Emma D, Educator: I adored this book and so did my grade ⅘ students! This story focuses on the skill of patience, a hard thing when you are little and waiting to enjoy something special. My kiddos had many of their own stories to share about patience that helped them connect to this beautifully written story. They had a chance to connect to the MC and reflect on their own learning. We also took time to admire the beautiful language in the book, the otomatopia [sic], the descriptive language, the well placed adjectives! Librarian 1824413: This was such a sweet and nostalgic story that emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and the small joys that can be found in the patient waiting for something. The illustrations were super cute and lovely, and the description of the iced tea made me really crave some! I enjoyed the sweet and silly moments between Charlotte and her Nana. Many aspects of this story (the homemade iced tea, the precious time together, and the rocking chairs on the front porch) reminded me so much of summers in the South at my Aunt's house. I can't wait for her to read it :)

Donna M., reviewer: I thought that this was a lovely book to read and I loved the relationship between the grandmother and granddaughter.
The story was well written and it was easy to read and understand and it had some great messaging on patience - which my daughter at times doesn't have too much of, if we bake, like the couple in the book, she looks through the oven window waiting to see when the cakes might be ready so she really resonated with the story. She has already had to learn to be patience as good things do come to those that wait.
The illustrations in the book were great, they were nice, bright and colourful and they brought the story to life too. My daughter enjoyed the book and I loved the message as a mum too. It was just an all-round lovely story to read.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
